Set Yourself Up For Success

What do you want to accomplish by the end of this year? Late October is an ideal time to begin working on a “60 Day Challenge” for the last two months of the year.

Several years ago, I started this challenge for myself for November and December. I make a list of up to ten things that I want to accomplish by the end of the year. Tasks, habits, or social goals. They may be goals or resolutions that I made at the beginning of the year but have not yet achieved. The key is to make sure your list is not too long, overwhelming or too difficult to achieve in 60 days.

There are two things that are vital for your success in the challenge:

1. Keep your list visible. The last thing you want is to not even remember what you put on your list because it is in a file on your computer or hidden away in a drawer somewhere! For me, I need to keep my list printed out and next to my computer so that I see it every day.

2. Have someone keep you accountable. Accountability is crucial, even for the most self-disciplined person. Ask someone in your life to hold you accountable to ask about your progress during the next two months. For me, I ask my coach to keep me accountable for progress. I know that she won’t let me get away with excuses, and she will help keep me on track for success!

The magic of the 60 day challenge is that you will begin to get momentum. John Maxwell refers to this as “The Law Of The Big Mo”. Once you start making progress on something, you begin to get momentum, which will set you up for success in 2023.
